Supplementary Electrical Classification Information

The Ferno VPX helmet is certified to AS/NZS 1801:2024 and has passed electrical resistance testing. However, it is not classified as a dielectric (Class E) helmet. Under AS/NZS 1801:2024, dielectric protection requires:

• Class E designation, including testing to 20,000 volts AC.
• Specific marking on the shell or headband.
• A non-vented design.

Ferno advises that the VPX helmet does not meet all Class E requirements and must not be considered suitable for electrical hazard protection. Electrical classification is independent of impact type ratings (Type 1–4), and only helmets explicitly marked Class E should be used where exposure to live electrical conductors is likely.
